Create a Smitten account

You create a Smitten account in the app with your phone number. Download Smitten, confirm your number with the code we text you, then answer a few questions to set up your profile.

1. Download Smitten from the App Store or Google Play.
2. Open the app and tap “I’m ready to match”.
3. Enter your phone number, then type in the code we send you by text message.
4. Answer the sign-up questions: your first name, birthday, gender, who you want to see and the age range you’re looking for.
5. Fill in a few profile questions and add your photos.
6. When asked, tap “Allow location” so we can show you people near you, and “Allow notification” so you hear about new matches and messages.
7. Tap “Start my journey”.

You can now start liking profiles in your feed. To make your profile stand out, add more to it from the “You” tab.

Good to know

• You sign in with your phone number, so use a number you’ll keep.
• You need to be 18 or older. More about the age limit.
• Already have an account? Tap “Sign in” on the first screen instead and enter the same phone number.
• Some steps only appear when they apply to you. For example, you won’t be asked for location or notifications if you’ve already allowed them.
• Near the end you’ll see Smitten Premium. It’s optional: tap “Continue with free” to skip it.
• On a computer? You can start signing up on the web and finish in the app. Here’s how.
