How do I message someone?

You can message someone once you’ve matched, which happens when you both like each other. Open the “Chat” tab, tap your match and write your message.

1. Like someone in your feed. If they like you back, it’s a match and your chat opens up.
2. Tap the “Chat” tab and choose your match.
3. Type your message and send it.

Before you match

You can’t chat before you match, but you can comment on something on their profile, like a photo or an answer. Your comment is sent with a like and shows up in their “Chat” tab under “Requests”. Each comment uses one of your likes.

Not sure what to say?

• Use the icebreakers in the chat: “GIFs”, “Photos”, “Guessary”, “Lie Detector” and “Wavy”. The games only show up if your match has them on their profile.
• If you played their Guessary or Lie Detector before you matched, your results appear in the chat when you match, so there’s something to talk about straight away.

Keep the chat going

A match expires after 10 days without a message. Every message resets the clock, and the top of the chat shows how many days are left, for example “Chat runs out in 3 days”. More about match expiry.
