Spotlight shows you one profile a day that we’ve picked for you, so you can slow down and take a proper look at one person. It refreshes every day at 8:00 p.m. UTC.
How to use it
- Tap the “Explore” tab.
- On the “Spotlight” card, slide to reveal today’s profile (“Slide to reveal”).
- Look through their profile, then like them, pass, or save them for later.
Good to know
- The card says “Refreshes daily at …” in your own time zone. When it refreshes, the previous profile leaves Spotlight.
- If you save them, they go to “Saved for later” in the “Likes” tab, where you have 48 hours to decide. See Save for later.
- We pick someone who fits your age, gender and distance preferences, and whose preferences you fit too. If there’s no one to show, you won’t see a Spotlight that day.
- People who’ve used the app recently are more likely to be picked, so staying active improves your chances of being someone’s Spotlight.
- Spotlight is still an experiment, so it may change over time.
