How do I block or report someone?

Updated

Tap “Block or report” at the bottom of someone’s profile. Blocking means you won’t see each other on Smitten. Reporting also tells our team what happened, and the person won’t know it was you.

To block someone

  1. Open their profile and scroll to the bottom.
  2. Tap “Block or report”.
  3. Tap “Block”.

To report someone

  1. Open their profile, scroll to the bottom and tap “Block or report”.
  2. Tap “Report and block”.
  3. Choose a reason, such as “Fake Profile”, “Inappropriate behavior”, “Scam or ads”, “Behavior outside the app” or “Underage”.
  4. Choose a more specific reason.
  5. On “Write your report”, add any details you can. This is optional.
  6. Tap “Submit report”.

To report a match

  1. Open your chat with them.
  2. Tap the three dots in the top-right corner.
  3. Tap “Report and unmatch”, then follow the same steps as above.

To end the match without reporting, tap “Unmatch” instead. See How do I unmatch someone?.

What happens next

  • You won’t see each other in the feed, in search or in likes, though they may still see your profile if it’s already in their feed. If you were matched, the match ends and the chat disappears.
  • Reports are anonymous. We don’t tell the person that you blocked or reported them.
  • Changed your mind about a block? You can undo it in “Blocked profiles”. See How do I unblock someone?. Reports can’t be undone.
  • To keep someone from seeing you before they even join, block their phone number. See How do I block someone’s phone number?.
