When you delete your account, your profile disappears from Smitten straight away, and most of your data is permanently deleted from our database after 30 days. A few records are kept, as listed below.
Right away
- Your profile is hidden from everyone, and you’re logged out.
- Your phone number and email are removed from your account. We keep them in a separate deletion record until the 30-day deletion runs.
- Your records with the services we use for login and push notifications are deleted.
- You can create a new account with the same phone number. It starts from scratch.
After 30 days
We permanently delete from our database:
- Your account and profile, including your answers and games
- Your matches, chats and messages
- Your likes, passes and saved profiles
- Your devices, locations, purchases and Boosts
- Reports other people made about you
- Phone numbers you blocked
- The deletion record holding your phone number and email
What we keep
- A record tied to your phone number. It holds how many accounts have been created with that number, when your last Premium Boost was refilled, any Premium codes redeemed, and any suspension on the number. A suspension on the number also applies to new accounts created with it.
- Reports and blocks you made about other people, so our team can still act on them. They’re no longer linked to your account, but they keep your account’s internal ID.
- Blocks other people placed on your phone number with “Blocked numbers”. They still apply if you sign up again with that number.
- Analytics data recorded while you used Smitten. It’s stored separately and isn’t removed by this process.
Subscriptions
Deleting your account doesn’t cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel your subscription to stop future payments.
